My name is Haley Seelal, I
come from a country in the
Caribbean called Trinidad &

Through my younger years, I was fortunate enough to have had the opportunity to travel. By
traveling to see other countries, cultures and people as well as my own rich culture and island
life, I grew to really appreciate diversification and variety and always looked for something
fresh and new.
I have had an eye for detail and design since I was a young girl and this continues to be
something I am very passionate about as an artist. I don’t confine myself to restrictions or
normality; nor do I like to “follow the flock”. I am lucky to have learned quite a wide variety
of skills and had exposure to many different potential career options.
Through my strong appetite to explore new ventures, I have grown a very diverse skill set
including: cooking, barista, drawing, painting, sculpting, design, handy work, social media,
marketing and professional photography. These skills give me versatility and open many doors in
the working world.
My main goal in life is to follow what I am passionate about; to travel everywhere, happy and
free, meeting new people, having new experiences, doing new activities and learning about new
cultures. This is how I will ensure I have a life rich with experiences, great memories and
meaningful relationships.

Growing up surrounded by both family and friends who have shown success as entrepreneurs has
motivated me to pursue this too; for my personal freedom, lifestyle and passions I wish to
pursue.
My goal is to build a brand and market it globally with my strong passion for photography,
digital art and communication through social media. I plan to study business management and
marketing at TRU, Kamloops in 2022 to give me a solid base whereby I can then strengthen my
skills in the real world. While completing my degree I plan on launching a few projects to
gain that real world experience.
I will launch a retail store utilizing unused space in our family coffee shop giving me
insight to a brick and mortar store, and I will sell Canadian branded coffee shop
essentials, designing patterns for coffee cups, sleeves, merch, etc. and sell it online to
gain experience with online digital marketing and ecommerce.
After university I plan on travelling for a few years working as a photographer to build my
portfolio and my network. This will give me balance between school and work and help fulfill
my life goals. One of my favourite places in the world is Italy and I would love to live
there for a couple years.
My family, as well as extended family means the world to me. With their support I’ve done so
much for myself to become the person I am today. I’m so grateful to be surrounded by such
hard working, intelligent, supportive people who have always been lifting me up since I was
born. I’m proud to be part of their legacy and only hope to bring them nothing but pleasure
by applying all that I’ve learnt from each one of them into my career and life journey.
And special thanks to my grandpa, who always challenges me to see things from every
perspective and never limit my thoughts. My grandma, who I admire for her hard work towards
our large family and being so loving to us all. My granny who taught me giving is always
important even if you can’t give a lot. My dad who taught me to follow my dreams and
passions whole heartedly. My mom who is the staple piece in our family and such a powerful
female figure who runs three companies jointly with my dad. My brother who toughened me up
for the real world. My baby sister who is my best friend and showed me the importance of
loving openly. My aunt who taught me to be free and not let society confine me to the limits
of the norm. My uncle who taught me to never be satisfied and always strive for more. And
Keven Watt who taught me anything is possible if you want it bad enough and the right
motivation is there.
